Taking an important step towards significant development and revolution in the education of the state, Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) approved the Uttarakhand Minority Education Bill 2025.

The bill is focused on the requirement of integrating the state’s minority educational institutions with the mainstream education system. Approving this historical step, Uttarakhand has become the first state to terminate Madrsa boards and combine with mainstream curriculum.
The Essential Reform in the Education System: Effects of the Uttarakhand Minority Education Bill 2025
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami clarified the historical decision as a revolutionizing step in the Education System in upcoming years. He said that when the bill comes into effect , madrasas running in the state will have to get recognition from the Uttarakhand Minority Education Authority and later have to affiliate themselves with the uttarakhand Board of School Education.
Later he said that this step will help create a modern and uniform education system. He announced that following the Uttarakhand Minority Education Bill 2025, all minority institutions will have to adopt the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

“The main goal of our government is to bring sustainable and revolutionary changes in the education system.” Said the Uttarakhand Chief Minister. He emphasized that every child must attain quality education to get equal and better opportunities regardless of their community.
Later on X, CM Dhami wrote a heartfelt gratitude to the LG for approving Minority Education Bill 2025 and said the bill is now paved towards a law. Under this law, minority education authorities will be established to authorize minority education institutions in the state.
